Descript Introduces AI-Eye Contact in ßeta: A Potential Game-Changer for Pre-Recorded Videos
Descript, a leading AI technology company, has recently unveiled its latest innovation called AI-Eye Contact. This groundbreaking feature aims to revolutionize the way pre-recorded videos are produced. In a world where teleprompters have long been the go-to tool for delivering scripts seamlessly, Descript’s AI-Eye Contact poses a significant challenge to this traditional method.
For those unfamiliar, a teleprompter, also known as an autocue, is a device that allows individuals to read scripts while maintaining direct eye contact with the camera lens. Since its inception in the 1950s, the teleprompter has played a crucial role in the production of videos. However, Descript’s AI-Eye Contact is poised to change the game.
To put this new technology to the test, we conducted a trial of Descript’s AI-Eye Contact. The results were nothing short of impressive. The AI-Eye Contact feature seamlessly tracks the speaker’s eye movements and adjusts the text accordingly, giving the illusion of direct eye contact with the audience. This innovation has the potential to eliminate the need for teleprompters in pre-recorded videos.
To showcase the capabilities of AI-Eye Contact, we have included a video demonstration. Please note that the video intentionally conceals the latest dynamic studio microphone, which will be reviewed in an upcoming article.
While AI-Eye Contact shows great promise, it is essential to note that this feature is still in ßeta. As of August 20, 2023, Descript is not yet a live service. Therefore, it may not be suitable for truly live content. However, for monologues and pre-recorded videos, this technology could be a game-changer.
