Descript Introduces AI-Eye Contact in ßeta: Will it Replace the Teleprompter?
Descript, a leading AI technology company, has unveiled its latest innovation, AI-Eye Contact, which is currently in ßeta testing. This new feature aims to challenge the traditional teleprompter, which has been widely used since the 1950s to assist presenters in reading scripts while maintaining eye contact with the camera.
The AI-Eye Contact from Descript is specifically designed for pre-recorded videos and aims to provide a more natural and engaging viewing experience. To showcase this new technology, a video test was conducted, intentionally concealing the latest dynamic studio microphone that will be reviewed in the near future.
While the results of the test were promising, it is important to note that AI-Eye Contact is still in its ßeta phase. As such, it may be best suited for monologues rather than spontaneous interviews. Additionally, as of August 20, 2023, Descript is not yet a live service, meaning it won’t replace teleprompters for live content.
