OWNDAYS has introduced Clear Vision lenses, which are enriched with moisture-retaining hyaluronic acid to provide up to eight hours of comfortable wear. According to Mr Toh, this compound helps to enhance water retention, reduce tear evaporation, minimize protein absorption on the ocular surface, and promote uninterrupted blinking.
In addition to their moisture-retaining properties, Clear Vision lenses also offer UV protection. They can block 80% of UVA rays and 95% of UVB rays, making them essential in a sunny climate like Singapore. Prolonged sun exposure can increase the risk of conditions such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and pterygium. Mr Toh emphasized the importance of taking proactive measures like using UV-coated contact lenses to safeguard eye health in the long run.
Since the introduction of the Clear Vision range, OWNDAYS has expanded its offerings to include Clear Vision Advance lenses. These lenses have improved oxygen permeability due to their composition. Mr Toh explained that the silicone hydrogel material allows for enhanced oxygen delivery to the cornea, promoting corneal health and reducing the risk of complications such as corneal swelling and ulcers.
The Advance line also features a hydrophilic hydrogel coating that helps reduce protein deposits, minimizing the potential for eye irritation. This makes Clear Vision Advance an ideal choice for individuals with dry or sensitive eyes. Additionally, these lenses offer enhanced tensile strength, providing increased resistance to chipping and tearing.
In addition to UV protection and enhanced oxygen permeability, OWNDAYS also addresses the issue of blue light exposure. Blue light emitted from digital screens can cause eye strain and disrupt sleep patterns. To combat this, OWNDAYS offers lenses with blue light filtering properties, helping to reduce the negative effects of prolonged screen time.
