A new line of contact lenses called Clear Vision is revolutionizing the way people wear lenses. These lenses are enriched with moisture-retaining hyaluronic acid, providing up to eight hours of comfortable wear. According to Mr Toh, the compound in Clear Vision lenses enhances water retention, reduces tear evaporation, prevents protein absorption on the ocular surface, and promotes uninterrupted blinking.
But that’s not all – Clear Vision lenses also offer excellent UV protection. They can block 80% of UVA rays and 95% of UVB rays. This is especially important in a sunny climate like Singapore, where prolonged sun exposure can lead to conditions such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and pterygium. Mr Toh emphasizes the importance of taking proactive measures to protect our eyes from the sun.
OWNDAYS has expanded the Clear Vision range to include lenses like Clear Vision Advance. These lenses have improved oxygen permeability due to their composition. Mr Toh explains that the silicone hydrogel material allows for enhanced oxygen delivery to the cornea, promoting corneal health and reducing the risk of complications like swelling and ulcers.
In addition, the Advance line features a hydrophilic hydrogel coating that helps reduce protein deposits, minimizing the potential for eye irritation. Mr Toh highlights the moisture-rich environment created by these lenses, which discourages the adhesion of deposits.
Clear Vision Advance is particularly suitable for individuals with dry or sensitive eyes. It also offers enhanced tensile strength, making it more resistant to chipping and tearing.
Another aspect that Clear Vision lenses address is blue light exposure. With the increasing use of digital devices, many people are concerned about the effects of blue light on their eyes. While Clear Vision lenses do not specifically mention blue light protection, they provide a comprehensive solution for overall eye health and comfort.
