A Singaporean contact lens brand has had to recall batches of its monthly disposable contact lenses after foreign particles were discovered in them. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has stated that US soft contact lens manufacturer CooperVision has recalled the Biofinity sphere monthly disposable contact lenses, but has not yet revealed what the foreign particles were. The recall applies only to products measuring minus 7.00 diopter, with four product lot numbers affected. A total of 11,868 lenses have been supplied to Singapore. The HSA has not yet received any reports of adverse events associated with the affected lenses. Consumers are advised not to use any products from the affected lots and should seek medical attention immediately if they experience any eye irritation.
