OWNDAYS has recently introduced Clear Vision lenses, which are designed to provide up to eight hours of comfortable wear. These lenses are enriched with moisture-retaining hyaluronic acid, which helps enhance water retention, minimize tear evaporation, reduce protein absorption on the outermost layer of the eye, and promote uninterrupted blinking, according to Mr Toh, a representative from OWNDAYS.
Aside from their comfort-enhancing features, Clear Vision lenses also offer UV protection. They can block 80 percent of UVA rays and 95 percent of UVB rays. This is particularly important in a sunny climate like Singapore, where prolonged sun exposure can increase the risk of conditions such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and pterygium. Mr Toh emphasized the importance of proactive measures like using UV-coated contact lenses to safeguard long-term eye health.
One of the notable lenses in the Clear Vision range is Clear Vision Advance. These lenses have improved oxygen permeability due to their composition, specifically silicone hydrogel. According to Mr Toh, this enhanced oxygen flow promotes corneal health and reduces the risk of corneal swelling, ulcers, and related complications compared to traditional hydrogel lenses.
The Advance line also features a hydrophilic hydrogel coating that helps reduce protein deposits, minimizing the potential for eye irritation. Mr Toh explained that the moisture-rich environment created by this coating maintains a smooth lens surface, discouraging the adhesion of deposits. This makes Clear Vision Advance an ideal choice for individuals with dry or sensitive eyes. Additionally, this lens series offers enhanced tensile strength, providing increased resistance to chipping and tearing.
In addition to UV protection and enhanced oxygen permeability, OWNDAYS also addresses the issue of blue light exposure. Blue light, emitted by digital screens and other electronic devices, can have negative effects on eye health. OWNDAYS offers solutions to manage blue light exposure, ensuring the well-being of their customers’ eyes.
